First Bank was chartered as the Bank of Wadley on November 6, 1907.  The main office remains at the original location in Wadley, Alabama.  The facility, as well as the banking industry has seen many changes since 1907.  However, some things remain unchanged, our utmost goal - personal service.  Now with additional locations in Roanoke, Rockford, Hollis Crossroads and Goodwater, we strive to offer our customers quality-banking products combined with a friendly, comfortable atmosphere.  

First Bank endeavors to invest a generous portion of our time and finances in the progress and growth of the communities in which we serve.  We also are continually searching for new and better ways to meet the financial needs of our communities, whether it be through new banking technology, ongoing education, or simply by listening and responding to our customers ever changing needs.

Temporary Liquidity Guaranty Program
For Participating Institutions: First Bank is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through Dec 31, 2012, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

Transactions restricted by the unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA) are prohibited from being processed through commercial accounts. This prohibition became effective on December 1, 2009. Additional information can be obtained by calling 256-395-2255
